Our ADHD Assessment Process
What happens during an ADHD Assessment?
We offer Psychiatrist-led full diagnostic ADHD assessments. Our Consultant Psychiatrists have extensive experience in diagnosing and managing ADHD and will complete a thorough assessment which will involve the following:
- Asking you to complete a set of questionnaires looking at how your symptoms affect the different areas of your life, including how you behave, socialise and your every day coping
- Taking a full history of your mental health and thorough mental state examination
- Taking a detailed childhood and developmental history
- Speaking to people close to you to understand your upbringing and behaviours in more detail
- Discussion of your current difficulties and the impact on your life, such as work, family, finances, and relationships
- Observing how you interact, and your mental state
- Looking at coexisting mental health issues and conditions, and also your physical health.
Patient Reviews
We offer a number of private ADHD services and treatments
We offer a range of therapies for those diagnosed with ADHD. Therapies can include Medications, Psycho Social Intervention or a combination of the two.
We prescribe a range of ADHD medications that includes both stimulants and non-stimulants. We provide follow-ups appointments to titrate the medications to an optimum dose. Once stable, we will provide annual reviews to monitor the response of medications in line with NICE guidelines.
This involves the principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) through either group or individual sessions with our team of Psychologists.
It can help with developing strategies in improving your concentration span, memory procrastination, time management, poor planning and help manage hyperactive and impulsive behaviours.
We help people find new coping strategies for the emotions and behaviours that interfere with implementing strategies.
We offer access to a unique coaching app designed specifically for people with ADHD. The app supports people to track and improve lifestyle habits, including nutrition, sleep and medication compliance.
To help people with the ongoing management of their ADHD, we work closely with GPs to establish shared care agreements.
A Shared Care Agreement is an agreement between you, your ADHD psychiatrist, and your GP, whereby the care and treatment you receive for ADHD are shared between your psychiatrist and your GP.
This is obtained through an agreement with you once your ADHD medication is stabilised and optimised.
